The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Resident Sports Graduate to join our PE & Games Department on a fixed term contract for one year. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team and gain invaluable experience in sports coaching and teaching, supporting pupils from Year 7 to 6th Form.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sports coaching to pupils across a range of disciplines including rugby, cricket, netball, tennis, and hockey.
- Assist with PE teaching in both practical and academic settings.
- Support the department with administrative tasks and other duties as required.
- Engage with pupils in a positive and encouraging manner to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
- Contribute to the development of sporting programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to enhance the overall PE experience for students.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to sports activities and student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in one or more of the following sports: rugby, cricket, netball, tennis, or hockey (playing at a high level or coaching).
- Commitment to working with young people in a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or coaching within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of curriculum planning and delivery in PE.
- Experience with administrative tasks or project management.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
