The Opportunity:

As a Residential Chaplain, you will play a vital role in guiding the spiritual, moral, and emotional development of pupils and staff. This is a unique opportunity to be fully immersed in the life of the school, supporting the wellbeing of the community and contributing to a culture of kindness, respect, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver worship services for students and staff across the school.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to pupils, staff, and families.
  • Foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity, supporting students of all faiths and none.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Boarding to support the wellbeing and daily life of the boarding house.
  • Promote the school’s ethos through teaching, reflection, and community engagement.
  • Encourage personal growth, reflection, and the development of values in students.
  • Participate in school events, pastoral meetings, and other duties as required.
  • Ensure the spiritual and emotional needs of the community are met in a compassionate and professional manner.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong commitment to spiritual and pastoral care.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A willingness to live in the boarding house and support the community 36 weeks per year.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred

  • Experience in a residential or boarding environment.
  • Knowledge of different faith traditions and an understanding of multi-faith contexts.
  • Experience in leading worship or delivering religious education.
  • A background in chaplaincy or theology.
