The Opportunity:
As a Residential Matron, you will play a key role in ensuring the wellbeing and safety of students in a boys’ boarding house. You will work closely with the Non-Resident Matron to manage domestic arrangements and support the smooth running of the house. This is a vital role that requires a caring, communicative, and highly organized individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguard the welfare and wellbeing of students in the boarding house.
- Coordinate domestic arrangements and liaise with the Cleaning Supervisor, House Handyman, and catering team.
- Organize and lead house functions and events.
- Maintain excellent communication with students, staff, and parents.
- Ensure a calm and supportive environment for students under pressure.
- Manage and maintain a one-bedroomed apartment provided as part of the role.
- Demonstrate IT literacy and a flexible approach to duties.
- Provide first aid when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- First aid qualification.
- Full driving license.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience in building supportive relationships with young people.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying duties and responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience in a residential or educational setting.
- Familiarity with boarding school operations.
- IT literacy and experience with relevant software.
- Experience in event coordination or management.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £29,870 per annum, including a residential allowance.
- Accommodation in a one-bedroomed apartment.
- 46 hours per week, Term Time Plus – 34 weeks.
