The Opportunity:

As a Riding Instructor, you will play a key role in inspiring and educating students from Years 1 to 8 in horsemanship and competitive riding. You will contribute to the school’s mission of providing a unique and enriching learning experience for every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach riding skills to students across all year groups, including pre-prep pupils.
  • Prepare students for riding competitions and develop their overall horsemanship.
  • Deliver engaging and structured lessons that encourage enthusiasm and confidence in riding.
  • Support the school’s extra-curricular and boarding activities, including sports and events.
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Communicate regularly with the Head and keep them informed of student progress and school affairs.
  • Contribute to the development of the riding program and ensure alignment with the school’s educational vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a riding instructor, preferably with children.
  • Strong knowledge of horsemanship and competitive riding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a busy boarding school environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a British or international school setting.
  • Familiarity with the ISEB Common Entrance examinations.
  • Coaching experience in a variety of sports.
  • Previous involvement in extra-curricular activities and school events.
