The Opportunity:
As a Safeguarding and Inclusion Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all students. You will lead and support initiatives that promote inclusion, safeguarding, and student support across the school. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on safeguarding matters and ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding and inclusion strategies across the school.
- Work closely with external agencies and support services to ensure the needs of vulnerable students are met.
- Coordinate training and awareness-raising activities for staff and students on safeguarding and inclusion issues.
- Support the pastoral care team in identifying and addressing the needs of students who require additional support.
- Maintain accurate records and report on safeguarding incidents and outcomes.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and respect throughout the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in safeguarding, child protection, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, including KCSIE and statutory requirements.
- Experience working in an educational setting, ideally within a school or academy trust.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in managing safeguarding and inclusion teams.
- Experience with multi-agency working and liaison with external agencies.
- Experience in developing and delivering training on safeguarding and inclusion topics.
- Knowledge of inclusion strategies and support for students with additional needs.
