The Opportunity:

We are seeking a School Accountant to provide essential support to the Finance Department, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations. This role is a key part of maintaining the school’s strong financial foundation and will involve collaboration with the Finance Manager and team to uphold robust internal practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a wide range of financial activities, including taxation and statutory submissions.
  • Prepare and maintain month-end reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Analyze financial data related to residential trips and other school initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial records and internal procedures.
  • Support the Finance Team in maintaining efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to implement and improve financial processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure adherence to financial regulations and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of financial processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of school-specific financial processes and requirements.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting practices.
  • Experience with statutory submissions and taxation procedures.
