The Opportunity:

As a School Business Manager, you will play a vital role in leading and managing support services within the school. You will ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment is provided within budget and aligned with strategic goals. This is a key leadership role with significant impact on the school’s operations and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise support services to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of development plans to drive continual improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of support services in line with strategic objectives.
  • Manage delegated budgets and resources with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and inspection frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment that supports the well-being of all students.
  • Lead and manage teams to achieve high standards of service and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Management or Professional qualification in a related area, such as a Management Diploma or Finance qualification.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards for education.
  • Understanding of current inspection frameworks used by regulatory and statutory bodies.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and legislative procedures for working with children and young people.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to define and achieve high standards in all areas of responsibility.
  • Effective team leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to assess situations, resolve problems, and make informed decisions.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing budgets and financial systems.
  • Experience in education or a related field.
  • Experience with EBITDA and financial planning processes.
