The Opportunity:
As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of the school environment. You will ensure that the school premises are secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of school buildings and grounds.
- Ensure compliance with cleaning standards and specifications.
- Manage and supervise cleaning or site staff as required.
- Act as a responsible key holder and ensure the security of the premises.
- Undertake routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
- Assist with the management of a specific resource area.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
- Support the school in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a caretaker or facilities management role.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of work.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid first aid qualification is desirable.
Preferred
- Experience working in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Experience with basic maintenance and repair tasks.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours when required.
