The Opportunity:

As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of the school environment. You will ensure that the school premises are secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of school buildings and grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with cleaning standards and specifications.
  • Manage and supervise cleaning or site staff as required.
  • Act as a responsible key holder and ensure the security of the premises.
  • Undertake routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
  • Assist with the management of a specific resource area.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Support the school in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a caretaker or facilities management role.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid first aid qualification is desirable.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with basic maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours when required.
