The Opportunity:

As a School Chaplain, you will be at the heart of the spiritual and pastoral life of the school, offering guidance, support, and leadership to students and staff of all faiths and none. This role is central to shaping the values and character of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral care, support, and spiritual guidance to students and staff.
  • Foster a culture of reflection, compassion, and service across the school community.
  • Lead and coordinate religious and spiritual activities, including worship, chaplaincy duties, and interfaith initiatives.
  • Collaborate with staff and students to promote the school’s values and ethos.
  • Support the development of character, well-being, and personal growth among students.
  • Engage with the broader school community, including parents and external faith groups.
  • Deliver chaplaincy services in both day and boarding environments.
  • Contribute to the school’s pastoral and academic programs, including tutor duties and evening responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong personal faith and commitment to spiritual leadership.
  • Experience in pastoral care, chaplaincy, or a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding school or independent school environment.
  • Knowledge of multiple faith traditions and interfaith work.
  • Experience in leading or delivering worship and spiritual activities.
  • Ability to contribute to the broader curriculum and extracurricular programs.
