The Opportunity:

As a School Chaplain, you will provide spiritual and pastoral support to students, staff, and families of all faiths. This role is central to nurturing the school’s Christian values and creating a supportive, reflective community. The Chaplain will contribute to the school’s mission of inspiring and challenging students academically and holistically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to students, staff, and families.
  • Lead and support worship and religious activities in line with the school’s Christian tradition.
  • Offer reflective spaces and support for students and staff during times of need.
  • Collaborate with staff to promote the school’s values of Family, Ambition, Character, and Excellence.
  • Participate in school events and contribute to the overall pastoral and spiritual life of the community.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians regarding pastoral and spiritual matters.
  • Support the development of students’ character and moral values through teaching and mentorship.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment with the school’s mission and vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong Christian faith and commitment to the Anglican tradition.
  • Experience in pastoral care or religious leadership within an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or pastoral work within a school environment.
  • Knowledge of the Woodard ethos and Christian education.
  • Experience in leading worship or religious activities.
  • Ability to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme.
