The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaner to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the school. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of the school and ensuring that all areas are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean all surfaces, walls, internal woodwork, fixtures, and fittings as required
  • Dust and polish regularly to maintain a tidy and professional environment
  • Maintain clean and sanitised kitchenette areas within classrooms
  • Vacuum and wash floors across the school premises
  • Keep shower rooms and all toilet areas stocked, clean, and in good condition
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are used safely and report any shortages or needs to the admin team
  • Tidy up rooms, classrooms, and communal areas regularly
  • Empty, clean, and maintain bins, and dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety guidelines

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and pride in work
  • Understanding of health and safety principles
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Good level of fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks

Preferred

  • Experience with COSHH regulations and safe use of chemicals
  • Knowledge of first aid principles
  • Experience in a school or educational setting

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate between £12.87 - £13.10
  • Part-time, permanent position with 20 hours per week, term-time only
