Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare fresh, nutritious, and appealing meals that meet the dietary needs of students
  • Design and implement balanced menus that cater to a variety of dietary requirements
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality in all aspects of kitchen operations
  • Ensure efficient use of resources, including managing stock, reducing waste, and ordering supplies
  • Collaborate with the school team to create a positive and engaging lunchtime experience for students
  • Work flexibly within a supportive team environment to meet the needs of the school community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A qualified cook with a City & Guilds or NVQ in Catering or equivalent
  • Experience in a busy kitchen environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to prepare a wide range of meals suitable for different dietary needs

Preferred

  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A passion for creating meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
