A school located in a semi-rural setting with extensive grounds, dedicated to providing education and care for children and young people with autism and learning difficulties.

The Opportunity:

As a School Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and varied meals that meet the dietary needs of students and staff. This role plays a vital part in supporting the health and wellbeing of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and cook fresh, balanced meals for pupils and staff, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences
  • Collaborate with education staff to develop menus that meet Government Healthy Eating expectations and accommodate sensory needs
  • Ensure all food is prepared and served in line with food safety regulations and best practices
  • Manage stock levels and maintain accurate records in accordance with health and safety policies
  • Ensure the kitchen and associated areas are kept to a high standard of hygiene and compliance
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere during mealtimes for pupils

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 certificate in Food
  • Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering
  • Valid food hygiene certificate

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Experience with special needs or autistic students
