School Counselor needed to support student wellbeing and academic success at a school in Saudi Arabia.

The Opportunity:

A School Counselor is needed to support student wellbeing, guide academic and university pathways, and contribute to a whole-school culture of emotional health and success. This role will have a significant impact on student development and school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling for social-emotional concerns
  • Develop and deliver wellbeing curriculum aligned with evidence-based frameworks
  • Collaborate with safeguarding and student support teams
  • Partner with families and external professionals to provide additional support when needed
  • Implement proactive programming to promote student wellbeing
  • Support academic and university pathway planning
  • Contribute to the development of a whole-school preventive program
  • Maintain confidentiality while effectively collaborating with teachers and families

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Master's degree in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a school counseling role
  • Training in evidence-based approaches (CBT, solution-focused, trauma-informed)
  • Experience with developing a whole school preventive program
  • Understanding of child safeguarding responsibilities

Preferred

  • Experience working in international or multicultural school settings
  • Familiarity with the IB curriculum or similar international programs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with student support teams or safeguarding protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to balance responsive support with proactive programming
