School Librarian needed to support literacy development and library management at a dynamic school.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the school library, including resource organisation, displays, and general upkeep
- Develop and implement a library policy and development plan in collaboration with the Literacy Lead
- Support small groups of students through literacy intervention and tailored reading resources
- Catalogue and manage library stock, ensuring accessibility and availability of materials
- Supervise student use of the library during lunchtimes and after school
- Conduct assessments to identify students requiring literacy support and track their progress
- Implement and promote literacy intervention programmes and strategies
- Coordinate library-related events, such as book weeks and World Book Day
- Contribute to whole-school literacy training and INSET sessions
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in library management and literacy support
- Ability to work effectively with students and staff
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Proficient in using library systems and resources
Preferred
- Experience with literacy intervention programmes such as Accelerated Reader
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices
- Experience in curriculum support and student engagement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with child protection policies and procedures
