As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of students across all age groups. This is a pupil-centred role that requires strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. You will ensure the smooth operation of the Health and Wellbeing Centre and contribute to the school’s commitment to student safety and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality healthcare support to students across all age groups.
- Deliver health education and training to staff and students.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support student wellbeing.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Health and Wellbeing Centre.
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as required.
- Promote health and wellbeing through preventative care and health education initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current professional registration.
- Experience working in a school or healthcare setting with children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in school nursing or paediatric care.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in educational settings.
- Experience in providing health education and training.
- Flexibility to work part-time and in a job share arrangement.
