The Opportunity:

As a School Nurse, you will support the Senior Nurse in providing essential health care, safeguarding, and health education to pupils and staff. This role is vital in maintaining the physical and emotional well-being of the school community, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality health care and support to pupils and staff.
Deliver health education and safeguarding initiatives across the school.
Manage and monitor medical needs of students in line with school policies.
Collaborate with the Senior Nurse and other school staff to ensure a cohesive approach to health and well-being.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all students.
Support the school in promoting a healthy lifestyle and mental well-being.
Attend to medical emergencies and provide first aid as required.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

Registered nurse with valid professional qualifications.
Experience in school nursing or a similar healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

Experience in a co-educational or independent school setting.
Familiarity with NHS Band 5 standards and practices.
Experience in health education and promoting well-being.
Proficiency in medical record-keeping and administrative tasks.
