The Opportunity:
As a School Operations Manager, you will provide strategic leadership across a range of critical school functions, ensuring the school operates efficiently and safely. This role is pivotal in enabling the Senior Leadership Team to focus on teaching and learning, while upholding the highest standards of pupil welfare and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership across human resources, health and safety, facilities, school office and administration, compliance and project management.
- Support the delivery of the School Improvement/Development Plan through effective resource allocation.
- Lead and manage whole-school and cross-functional projects, including complex building and development works.
- Develop and implement policies in line with statutory and safeguarding requirements.
- Line manage and performance manage designated support staff, ensuring high standards of performance and professional development.
- Ensure the school office delivers a professional, child-centred administrative service.
- Oversee the maintenance and development of school premises in line with the Asset Management Plan.
- Formulate and implement the school’s Health and Safety Policy in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Act as the Data Protection Officer and ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
- Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of children at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in school operations management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety, HR, and compliance procedures in an educational setting.
- Experience in managing large-scale projects and leading teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Preferred
- Experience in managing school premises and facilities.
- Familiarity with SIMS or iTrent systems.
- Experience in data protection and GDPR compliance.
- Leadership experience in a school or educational environment.
