The Opportunity:

As a Science and Design Technician, you will play a key role in preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning in STEM and design education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain resources, equipment, and materials for Science and Design Technology lessons
  • Ensure all health and safety standards are met in the laboratory and workshop areas
  • Support teachers in delivering practical lessons and student projects
  • Assist with the storage, organisation, and management of equipment and consumables
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance the quality of practical learning experiences
  • Undertake regular maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Keep accurate records of inventory and usage of resources
  • Contribute to the development of a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a technical or support role within an educational setting
  • Strong organisational and practical skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a school environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in Science or Design Technology education
  • Familiarity with laboratory and workshop equipment
  • Previous experience in a school or college setting
  • Commitment to student safety and well-being

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range £21,662 to £22,354 per annum
  • Part-time working pattern (37 hours per week, term time plus inset days)
