The Opportunity:
As a Science and Design Technician, you will play a key role in preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning in STEM and design education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain resources, equipment, and materials for Science and Design Technology lessons
- Ensure all health and safety standards are met in the laboratory and workshop areas
- Support teachers in delivering practical lessons and student projects
- Assist with the storage, organisation, and management of equipment and consumables
- Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance the quality of practical learning experiences
- Undertake regular maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
- Keep accurate records of inventory and usage of resources
- Contribute to the development of a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a technical or support role within an educational setting
- Strong organisational and practical skills
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a school environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in Science or Design Technology education
- Familiarity with laboratory and workshop equipment
- Previous experience in a school or college setting
- Commitment to student safety and well-being
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range £21,662 to £22,354 per annum
- Part-time working pattern (37 hours per week, term time plus inset days)
