The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Science Faculty Leader to join our team and help drive the school’s continued success. This role is central to shaping the future of science education and ensuring students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to thrive. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the science department to deliver high-quality teaching and learning
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for science education that aligns with the school’s goals
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement in achievement
- Support and mentor science staff to enhance professional development and teaching standards
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate science into a broader curriculum and extracurricular opportunities
- Engage with the wider community to promote science and raise the profile of the school
- Ensure the science department reflects the school’s values and commitment to inclusivity and excellence
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to contribute to school-wide initiatives and improvement plans
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience within a school or educational setting
- Strong subject knowledge in science with a commitment to raising student achievement
- Experience in developing and managing a successful teaching team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and lead effectively in a dynamic and supportive environment
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation
- Background in professional development and staff training
- Experience with extra-curricular science activities or community engagement initiatives
- Familiarity with the Oasis Community Learning network and its values
