The Opportunity:

As a Science Faculty Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the academic direction of the Science Faculty. You will lead a small team and teach to both GCSE and A level, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator who is committed to driving excellence in science education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a small team of science teachers to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons to both GCSE and A level students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to raise academic standards in the Science Faculty.
  • Stay up to date with the latest teaching and learning best practices.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support student progress and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student performance to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous professional development within the Science Faculty.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Extensive subject knowledge in either Physics or Chemistry.
  • Experience of leading a small team of teachers.
  • Proven ability to teach to both GCSE and A level.
  • Strong understanding of current teaching and learning best practices.
  • Commitment to developing academic standards and contributing to school life.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Experience in a co-educational environment.
  • Leadership experience within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
