The Opportunity:
As a Science Lab Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science Department by ensuring the laboratory is safe, well-organised, and fully equipped for practical lessons. Your work will directly contribute to the quality of science education and the overall learning experience for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, organise, and manage laboratory reagents and materials
- Set up practical lessons for biology, chemistry, and physics
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established schedules
- Ensure laboratory spaces, glassware, and work areas are clean and orderly
- Monitor stock levels and place internal orders as needed
- Support teachers during practical lessons when required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Completed MBO level 3 education, preferably in laboratory technology or a related science field
- 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience (internships count)
- Experience working in a laboratory environment with strong health and safety awareness
- Affinity with Microsoft Office and basic administrative tasks
Preferred
- Experience as an Art Lab Technician
