Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages, ensuring student engagement and progress.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum and share best practices.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and wider school initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate new ideas into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A-level Science subjects.
  • Experience with inclusion and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Experience with curriculum development and leadership within a department.
