Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 that foster curiosity and a love of learning.
- Develop and implement effective curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
- Support students’ academic and personal development through individualised guidance and mentorship.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental standards and share best practices.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote Science education.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science teaching and incorporate new ideas into lessons.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and student enrichment programs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and significant experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Proven leadership experience in curriculum planning and staff management.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging Science lessons.
- Commitment to student well-being and academic success.
Preferred
- Experience in the state or independent sector.
- Background in curriculum leadership or departmental management.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods or educational technologies.
- Ability to contribute to extracurricular Science activities or clubs.
- Experience in developing and leading staff training initiatives.
