Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 that foster curiosity and a love of learning.
  • Develop and implement effective curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
  • Support students’ academic and personal development through individualised guidance and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental standards and share best practices.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote Science education.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science teaching and incorporate new ideas into lessons.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and student enrichment programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and significant experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Proven leadership experience in curriculum planning and staff management.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging Science lessons.
  • Commitment to student well-being and academic success.

Preferred

  • Experience in the state or independent sector.
  • Background in curriculum leadership or departmental management.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods or educational technologies.
  • Ability to contribute to extracurricular Science activities or clubs.
  • Experience in developing and leading staff training initiatives.
