Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology according to departmental schemes of work and school curriculum requirements
  • Prepare and deliver well-structured, engaging, and effective lessons that meet the needs of all students
  • Manage classroom discipline and ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments
  • Communicate with parents and colleagues regarding student progress, behaviour, and academic needs
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and the development of teaching resources
  • Support the Head of Department with exam preparation, scheme of work development, and curriculum implementation
  • Attend and contribute to professional development, staff training, and INSET programmes
  • Uphold and implement the school's policies, including those related to safeguarding, SEN, and home-school communication

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor of Education or a subject degree plus PGCE
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Biology and science education
  • Fluency in English

  • Ability to assess and support student interests and academic development
  • Experience in curriculum design and delivery

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other educational technologies
