The Opportunity:

As a Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils. You will be responsible for creating engaging and challenging lessons that inspire a love of science and promote academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dynamic and effective Science lessons to Key Stage 2 and 3 students.
  • Maintain a professional standard, adhering to statutory and school requirements for Health & Safety, Risk Assessment and Child Protection.
  • Plan and implement a comprehensive Science curriculum with a multi-sensory approach.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents.
  • Support the preparation of pupils for scholarships to senior schools.
  • Assist with setting and marking tests and internal assessments.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and curriculum development.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities, including games and after-school events.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s Catholic ethos and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Degree in a relevant Science subject.
  • Evidence of commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
  • Proven record of effective Science teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Experience in working within a boarding school environment.
  • Proficient computer skills for administration and curriculum delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience with extra-curricular activities and sports.
  • Experience with teaching in a Catholic school setting.
  • Experience in pastoral duties or form taking.
