Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with the curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support the wider school community through collaboration with colleagues and participation in school events.
  • Uphold and promote the school's values and ethos in all aspects of teaching and behavior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety standards.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience in teaching science at secondary level
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to student well-being and inclusive education

Preferred

  • Experience teaching students with diverse learning needs
  • Familiarity with STEM initiatives and extracurricular science activities
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and resources in science teaching
