Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and inspire students.
- Support the Science Faculty in developing ambitious learning outcomes and improving student progress and attainment.
- Encourage and motivate students to achieve their personal best through innovative teaching and strong pastoral support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continually improve teaching methods.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and a love of learning.
- Ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively, with a focus on student achievement and personal development.
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree level qualification in Science with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to supporting student progress and attainment in Science.
- Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clear, up-to-date references demonstrating suitability for working with children.
Preferred
- Experience in Science education at secondary level.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or teaching in diverse student settings.
- Previous experience in a Multi-Academy Trust or similar educational setting.
- Leadership experience within a Science department or faculty.
