Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and inspire students.
  • Support the Science Faculty in developing ambitious learning outcomes and improving student progress and attainment.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their personal best through innovative teaching and strong pastoral support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continually improve teaching methods.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and a love of learning.
  • Ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively, with a focus on student achievement and personal development.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree level qualification in Science with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to supporting student progress and attainment in Science.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Clear, up-to-date references demonstrating suitability for working with children.

Preferred

  • Experience in Science education at secondary level.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or teaching in diverse student settings.
  • Previous experience in a Multi-Academy Trust or similar educational setting.
  • Leadership experience within a Science department or faculty.
