Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support the learning needs of all students, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Maintain high standards of behavior and classroom management to ensure a disruption-free learning environment.
  • Participate in whole-school CPD initiatives and contribute to the sharing of best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes and support the school’s ongoing development.
  • Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate and in line with school policies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using data to inform teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular Science activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality lessons that promote student engagement and achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on continuous improvement and Ofsted success.
  • Experience with flexible working arrangements and whole-school CPD.
  • Experience in managing behavior and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
  • Experience with alternative provision or pastoral support.
