Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective science lessons across all key stages.
  • Support the department in achieving outstanding student outcomes and academic success.
  • Continuously improve teaching and learning practices through the use of IRIS and regular feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies for departmental improvement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing development of the science curriculum.
  • Engage with students and parents to support their learning and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Science Teacher with relevant experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science and the ability to teach across key stages.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in teaching practice.
  • Experience in using IRIS and other performance management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a similar ethos and values.
  • Experience in delivering high-impact teaching and learning strategies.
  • Background in a school with a strong focus on pastoral care and student well-being.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience in a school with a proven track record of outstanding Ofsted ratings.
