Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science subjects to students across various grade levels, using innovative and engaging teaching methods.
- Support students in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum that aligns with IB frameworks and learning objectives.
- Provide individualized support to students, fostering a caring and inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices and student learning outcomes.
- Participate in professional development activities and share best practices with the teaching community.
- Engage in curriculum review and development to ensure alignment with the school's educational goals and standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
- A minimum of 3 years experience teaching Secondary Science, ideally within an IB curriculum school.
- Strong understanding of the IB MYP & DP framework and Approaches to Teaching.
- A genuine passion for working in a non-selective, culturally diverse community.
- Commitment to the IB Learner Profile and the school's values.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching the IB Middle Years Programmes & Diploma Programmes.
- Advanced qualifications in Science or Education.
- A strong desire to continually improve teaching practice and deliver outstanding learning experiences.
- Alignment with the school's mission and vision of fostering global citizenship and intercultural understanding.
