Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Plan and implement a dynamic curriculum that aligns with national standards and promotes a love of learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the professional development of the teaching team.
  • Support the school’s values-based education philosophy by promoting respect, responsibility, and resilience in students.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enhance student engagement and community spirit.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Stay up to date with developments in science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into your practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and a valid teaching qualification.
  • Experience in teaching science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, or equivalent.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for inspiring young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.

Preferred

  • Experience with NQTs/ECTs or a willingness to support new teachers.
  • Experience in developing and delivering science-based extracurricular programs.
  • Familiarity with the latest science teaching methodologies and resources.
  • Experience in a school with a values-based education approach.
