Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Support individual student progress, including those with special educational needs or higher abilities.
- Act as a Form Tutor, promoting student well-being and encouraging participation in school life.
- Collaborate with department staff and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
- Engage with parents and the wider community through events such as Parents’ Evenings and Open Days.
- Implement effective assessment strategies to monitor and enhance student achievement.
- Stay up to date with scientific developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum.
- Work within a supportive team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality science education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Science, preferably in Chemistry or Physics.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
- Experience working with students of varying abilities and learning needs.
- Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a science department.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
- Experience with assessment and tracking student progress.
- Knowledge of science-related extracurricular activities or STEM initiatives.
