Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Support individual student progress, including those with special educational needs or higher abilities.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, promoting student well-being and encouraging participation in school life.
  • Collaborate with department staff and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community through events such as Parents’ Evenings and Open Days.
  • Implement effective assessment strategies to monitor and enhance student achievement.
  • Stay up to date with scientific developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum.
  • Work within a supportive team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality science education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science, preferably in Chemistry or Physics.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Experience working with students of varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a science department.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with assessment and tracking student progress.
  • Knowledge of science-related extracurricular activities or STEM initiatives.
