The Opportunity:
Join a high-performing Science Department at an Ofsted Outstanding school. As a Science Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering inspiring and impactful lessons across a range of science qualifications and extra-curricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in GCSE Combined Science, GCSE Triple Science, A Level Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
- Support students in BTEC Health & Social Care and BTEC Medicine courses.
- Participate in and lead extra-curricular activities such as the award-winning Eco-Garden and robotics club.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching and learning.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote student confidence, resilience, and academic success.
- Support the school’s mission by fostering a strong Catholic ethos and commitment to safeguarding and welfare.
- Undertake regular professional development and contribute to the continued success of the Science Department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
- Experience in teaching science at secondary level.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Strong knowledge of science curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Ability to work within a Catholic ethos and support the school’s mission.
Preferred
- Experience with GCSE and A Level science qualifications.
- Experience in leading extra-curricular science activities.
- Experience with BTEC qualifications in Health & Social Care or Medicine.
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
