The Opportunity:

Join a high-performing Science Department at an Ofsted Outstanding school. As a Science Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering inspiring and impactful lessons across a range of science qualifications and extra-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in GCSE Combined Science, GCSE Triple Science, A Level Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Support students in BTEC Health & Social Care and BTEC Medicine courses.
  • Participate in and lead extra-curricular activities such as the award-winning Eco-Garden and robotics club.
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching and learning.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote student confidence, resilience, and academic success.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a strong Catholic ethos and commitment to safeguarding and welfare.
  • Undertake regular professional development and contribute to the continued success of the Science Department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Experience in teaching science at secondary level.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Strong knowledge of science curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Ability to work within a Catholic ethos and support the school’s mission.

Preferred

  • Experience with GCSE and A Level science qualifications.
  • Experience in leading extra-curricular science activities.
  • Experience with BTEC qualifications in Health & Social Care or Medicine.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
