The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that promote critical thinking and practical application.
  • Develop and implement an inclusive curriculum tailored to the needs of all students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share resources.
  • Support students in achieving measurable progress and high attainment across all Key Stages.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of the Science curriculum and STEM pathways.
  • Uphold the school’s values and ethos by maintaining a safe, respectful, and disciplined learning environment.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the strategic goals of the department.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Science (biology, chemistry, or physics).
  • Strong commitment to student success and a proven track record in delivering high standards of teaching.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons.
  • Experience working with students of all abilities and backgrounds.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and STEM pathway planning.
  • Familiarity with the Northern Schools Trust and its professional development network.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership potential and interest in pursuing middle or senior leadership roles.
