The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher with a specialism in Chemistry to join our dynamic Science faculty. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and contribute to a culture of curiosity and academic excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' learning journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality Science lessons that inspire students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources.
  • Support the implementation of quality-assurance processes to ensure excellent teaching and learning.
  • Model exceptional classroom practice and support colleagues’ professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all school policies, including safeguarding, behaviour, and health and safety.
  • Provide appropriate cover for classes in the event of staff absence and support whole-school duties as required.
  • Ensure that students meet or exceed progress and attainment targets in Science.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a strong departmental ethos built on purpose and high expectations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Minimum of two years’ experience teaching Science within the British National Curriculum (UK or international).
  • Strong track record of excellent classroom practice and positive student outcomes.
  • Ability to use assessment effectively to guide planning and improve achievement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to form positive working relationships.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching iGCSE Chemistry.
  • Subject leadership experience or relevant leadership-focused professional development (e.g., NPQ).
