The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher with a specialism in Chemistry to join our dynamic Science faculty. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and contribute to a culture of curiosity and academic excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality Science lessons that inspire students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Contribute to the development of curriculum plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources.
- Support the implementation of quality-assurance processes to ensure excellent teaching and learning.
- Model exceptional classroom practice and support colleagues’ professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all school policies, including safeguarding, behaviour, and health and safety.
- Provide appropriate cover for classes in the event of staff absence and support whole-school duties as required.
- Ensure that students meet or exceed progress and attainment targets in Science.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a strong departmental ethos built on purpose and high expectations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching Science within the British National Curriculum (UK or international).
- Strong track record of excellent classroom practice and positive student outcomes.
- Ability to use assessment effectively to guide planning and improve achievement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to form positive working relationships.
Preferred
- Experience teaching iGCSE Chemistry.
- Subject leadership experience or relevant leadership-focused professional development (e.g., NPQ).
