Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A Level Physics or Chemistry if applicable.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Science curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to support continuous growth and career progression.
  • Manage and maintain Science facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Support student welfare and pastoral care as part of the school community.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and integrate new teaching techniques and technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Science education.
  • Ability to teach Science at Key Stages 3 and 4, with experience in A Level Physics or Chemistry preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and a passion for Science education.
  • Experience working in a team environment and willingness to take initiative.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching methods or technology in Science education.
  • Background in continuing professional development (CPD) or leadership within a Science department.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
