The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Science Teacher to join a vibrant and successful department. The role involves teaching Chemistry and Physics to top sets, with opportunities to lead extra-curricular activities and contribute to the ongoing development of the Science department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Chemistry and Physics to high-achieving students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver engaging lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
- Prepare and mark assessments, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and development of the Science curriculum.
- Lead and support extra-curricular activities, including science clubs and educational trips.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Support students with special educational needs and ensure inclusive teaching practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Science education.
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and Physics.
- Experience teaching top sets and managing a diverse range of student abilities.
- Commitment to high academic standards and student achievement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience in leading extra-curricular science activities or educational trips.
- Familiarity with AQA Science qualifications and assessment methods.
- Experience with teaching Separate Science and Trilogy Science courses.
- Experience in using technology to enhance Science teaching and learning.
- Background in school leadership or mentoring of early-career teachers.
