Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high-quality, knowledge-rich Science curriculum aligned with the school’s values and mission.
  • Create engaging and effective lesson plans that promote student achievement and progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on shared units of work and resources.
  • Provide whole-class feedback to support student learning without onerous marking policies.
  • Uphold the school’s warm/strict behaviour system to ensure disruption-free learning.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and instructional coaching to enhance teaching practice.
  • Support students in developing a love for Science and a deep understanding of core concepts.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science.
  • Experience in teaching Science at secondary level.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission, including belief in the potential of all students.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with a knowledge-rich curriculum and traditional teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with Rosenshine’s principles or Lemov’s Teach Like A Champion.
  • Experience in collaborative planning and shared resource development.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver whole-class feedback effectively.
  • Interest in professional development and leadership opportunities.
