Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a high-quality, knowledge-rich Science curriculum aligned with the school’s values and mission.
- Create engaging and effective lesson plans that promote student achievement and progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues on shared units of work and resources.
- Provide whole-class feedback to support student learning without onerous marking policies.
- Uphold the school’s warm/strict behaviour system to ensure disruption-free learning.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and instructional coaching to enhance teaching practice.
- Support students in developing a love for Science and a deep understanding of core concepts.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science.
- Experience in teaching Science at secondary level.
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission, including belief in the potential of all students.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
Preferred
- Experience with a knowledge-rich curriculum and traditional teaching methods.
- Familiarity with Rosenshine’s principles or Lemov’s Teach Like A Champion.
- Experience in collaborative planning and shared resource development.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver whole-class feedback effectively.
- Interest in professional development and leadership opportunities.
