Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and progress.
  • Communicate with parents to support student learning and development at home.
  • Act as a form tutor and deliver the PSHE programme effectively.
  • Participate in and contribute to departmental initiatives and extra-curricular activities.
  • Support the continuous improvement of Science teaching and learning across the school.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science qualification.
  • Experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of respect, resilience, and responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular Science activities.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
  • Experience in working with ECTs or in a leadership role within a department.
  • Familiarity with educational research and evidence-based teaching methods.
