The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in biology, chemistry, and physics at KS3, KS4, and Sixth Form.
- Plan and prepare practical experiments that promote curiosity and understanding.
- Ensure all practical activities are conducted safely and in line with health and safety requirements.
- Assess student progress and use data to inform planning and intervention strategies.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student development and achievement.
- Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
- Contribute to curriculum development and resource creation within the Science department.
- Support students in achieving strong outcomes at GCSE and A-Level.
- Participate in enrichment activities, including trips, clubs, and wider school events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong subject knowledge in science (biology, chemistry, and physics).
- Experience teaching science up to GCSE level, with the ability to teach A-Level in at least one specialism.
- Commitment to student progress and the ability to use assessment effectively to drive achievement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to departmental improvement.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
- Background in teaching within a school that values a knowledge-rich, traditional approach to teaching and learning.
- Familiarity with instructional strategies such as those outlined in 'Teach Like A Champion' and Rosenshine’s principles.
- Experience in delivering professional development or mentoring colleagues.
