Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Plan and develop a coherent sequence of lessons that build subject-specific skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a love of learning and encourage students to question, investigate, and explore the world around them.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to enhance Science teaching and learning.
  • Support students through effective assessment, feedback, and individualised learning strategies.
  • Engage in enrichment activities, including science competitions and reward programmes.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular and pastoral activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • Experience of teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons that promote student progress and engagement.
  • Commitment to fostering a love of learning in all students.

Preferred

  • Experience with AQA specifications.
  • Successful track record in raising student achievement in Science.
  • Experience in mentoring or coaching early career teachers.
  • Involvement in science competitions or enrichment activities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
