Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Plan and develop a coherent sequence of lessons that build subject-specific skills and knowledge.
- Foster a love of learning and encourage students to question, investigate, and explore the world around them.
- Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to enhance Science teaching and learning.
- Support students through effective assessment, feedback, and individualised learning strategies.
- Engage in enrichment activities, including science competitions and reward programmes.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular and pastoral activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong subject knowledge in Science.
- Experience of teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons that promote student progress and engagement.
- Commitment to fostering a love of learning in all students.
Preferred
- Experience with AQA specifications.
- Successful track record in raising student achievement in Science.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching early career teachers.
- Involvement in science competitions or enrichment activities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
