Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across all year groups, with a focus on engaging and practical learning.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes at GCSE and A-level, including those pursuing Science at A-level.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, contributing to their overall development and wellbeing.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities.
  • Maintain and update Science laboratory resources and equipment in line with best practice and safety standards.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to promote the school’s mission and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4, with experience of A-level teaching preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with NPQML or NPQSL qualifications.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading within a Science department.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and resources.
  • Experience in developing and delivering CPD sessions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
