Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons across all year groups, with a focus on engaging and practical learning.
- Support students in achieving excellent outcomes at GCSE and A-level, including those pursuing Science at A-level.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, contributing to their overall development and wellbeing.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities.
- Maintain and update Science laboratory resources and equipment in line with best practice and safety standards.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to promote the school’s mission and values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
- Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4, with experience of A-level teaching preferred.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student achievement and professional development.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with NPQML or NPQSL qualifications.
- Experience in mentoring or leading within a Science department.
- Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and resources.
- Experience in developing and delivering CPD sessions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
