The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Science Teacher to join our supportive and innovative department on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-achieving Science team and support student learning across all key stages. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher, you will be fully supported in your professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science education across all key stages
- Support student learning through innovative and engaging teaching methods
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes and departmental performance
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans and resources
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly
- Participate in departmental meetings and staff development activities
- Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular and pastoral support
- Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and achievement
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant Science subject specialism
- Experience in teaching Science at key stages 3 and 4
- Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities where needed
Preferred
- Experience with teaching students with additional needs
- Experience with Science outreach or extra-curricular activities
- Experience with innovative teaching methods or digital tools in Science education
- ECT with a clear development plan
