The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science to a range of students across Key Stages 3 and 4, including top sets in Chemistry and Physics.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage students and promote academic excellence.
- Participate in departmental trips, extra-curricular activities, and competitions such as the Lego Creator Competition.
- Support the development of the Science curriculum and contribute to the department’s vision and goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve student outcomes and share best practices.
- Prepare and mark student work in line with the school’s standards and expectations.
- Attend staff meetings, departmental meetings, and other school-related events.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science, preferably with experience in Chemistry and Physics.
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
- Commitment to student achievement and a passion for Science education.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on departmental responsibilities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching top sets and managing mixed-ability classes.
- Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular Science activities.
- Familiarity with AQA Science qualifications and examination requirements.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
