Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that align with the school’s vision and curriculum.
  • Support student progress through effective assessment and targeted interventions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and share best teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular Science activities and events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development programs and safeguarding training.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science subject degree and QTS.
  • Experience in teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to the school’s Catholic values and ethos.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities where appropriate.

Preferred

  • Experience with GCSE and A Level Science qualifications.
  • Previous experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in Science education and pedagogy.
  • Experience in using technology to enhance Science teaching and learning.
