The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic Science department as a Science Teacher with a specialism in Physics or Chemistry. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and inspiring students to excel in Science at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative Science lessons to both GCSE and A-Level students.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and a love of Science.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and challenging curriculum.
- Support students in developing key scientific skills and knowledge.
- Participate in the extra-curricular life of the school, including science-related activities and events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student outcomes.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant Science degree and QTS or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Physics or Chemistry to A-Level and a second Science discipline to GCSE.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the school’s values and ethos.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
- Experience with extra-curricular Science activities or STEM initiatives.
- Strong record of student achievement and engagement.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods or technology in Science education.
