The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic Science department as a Science Teacher with a specialism in Physics or Chemistry. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and inspiring students to excel in Science at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Science lessons to both GCSE and A-Level students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and a love of Science.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and challenging curriculum.
  • Support students in developing key scientific skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in the extra-curricular life of the school, including science-related activities and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student outcomes.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science degree and QTS or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Physics or Chemistry to A-Level and a second Science discipline to GCSE.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the school’s values and ethos.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Experience with extra-curricular Science activities or STEM initiatives.
  • Strong record of student achievement and engagement.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods or technology in Science education.
