The Opportunity:

Join a passionate team of Science teachers to support students during a temporary maternity cover role. This is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced teachers to contribute to a progressive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential in Combined Science, Triple Science, and A-Level subjects.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement engaging Science curriculum content.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of Science teaching and learning.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
  • Support the school's mission to improve student life chances through high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities provided by the school and Trust.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Science teacher with relevant experience.
  • Ability to teach Combined Science and Triple Science at Key Stage 4.
  • Experience teaching A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Applied Science.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and inclusive education.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a multi-academy trust environment.
  • Previous experience with mentoring or leading professional development.
  • Familiarity with teaching in a mixed, mainstream secondary school setting.
  • Experience with GCSE and A-Level qualifications.
