The Opportunity:
Join a passionate team of Science teachers to support students during a temporary maternity cover role. This is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced teachers to contribute to a progressive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Support students in achieving their full potential in Combined Science, Triple Science, and A-Level subjects.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement engaging Science curriculum content.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of Science teaching and learning.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Support the school's mission to improve student life chances through high-quality teaching and learning.
- Engage in professional development opportunities provided by the school and Trust.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Science teacher with relevant experience.
- Ability to teach Combined Science and Triple Science at Key Stage 4.
- Experience teaching A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Applied Science.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and inclusive education.
Preferred
- Experience working in a multi-academy trust environment.
- Previous experience with mentoring or leading professional development.
- Familiarity with teaching in a mixed, mainstream secondary school setting.
- Experience with GCSE and A-Level qualifications.
