The Opportunity:
We are seeking a part-time Science Technician to join a job-share arrangement, supporting the Science Department with practical lessons, equipment maintenance, and chemical safety. This role is ideal for someone passionate about science and committed to delivering high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage practical science lessons across the Science Department.
- Maintain and organize science equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
- Ensure the safe storage and handling of chemicals and scientific materials in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the delivery of science education.
- Communicate effectively with the job-share partner to ensure smooth working arrangements.
- Stay up to date with changes in science curriculum and best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of science-related projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive working environment within the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong subject knowledge in science.
- Understanding of health and safety protocols in a school setting.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a school or educational environment.
Preferred
- Experience in a science-related role or as a Science Technician.
- Familiarity with IT systems and software used in education.
- Experience working in a job-share or team-based environment.
