The Opportunity:

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Science Department by preparing and maintaining resources for practical lessons. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality Science curriculum and enhance student learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and resources for Science lessons
  • Support the delivery of practical Science activities across Key Stage 3
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is safe, functional, and in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Science experiments and demonstrations
  • Collaborate with Science teachers to support curriculum delivery and student engagement
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory usage and inventory
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to students and staff as required
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Science teaching and learning practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Practical experience in a school or educational setting
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to health and safety standards in the laboratory
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Preferred

  • A background in Science or related field
  • Experience in preparing and managing Science resources and equipment
  • Demonstrable track record of supporting student learning and development
  • Enthusiasm for Science education and innovation in teaching practices
