The Opportunity:
As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Science Department by preparing and maintaining resources for practical lessons. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality Science curriculum and enhance student learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and resources for Science lessons
- Support the delivery of practical Science activities across Key Stage 3
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is safe, functional, and in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assist in the development and implementation of Science experiments and demonstrations
- Collaborate with Science teachers to support curriculum delivery and student engagement
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory usage and inventory
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to students and staff as required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Science teaching and learning practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Practical experience in a school or educational setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to health and safety standards in the laboratory
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred
- A background in Science or related field
- Experience in preparing and managing Science resources and equipment
- Demonstrable track record of supporting student learning and development
- Enthusiasm for Science education and innovation in teaching practices
